I feel like my intellectual and maturity level have dropped lately.. or maybe more so that I'm being restrained from reaching my full potential because of the environment, namely the people that I associate with, that I'm in right now.

I need to figure out what I WANT, what I love, and do those things. Basicly I want new friends, as in a new group of people to socialize with, not replacing the current group just in conjunction with.

Anyways, after watching Little Women and thinking about this, I decided to e-mail this guy that I met when I was in Toronto and had like a, man, I don't even know how long we stood there and talked about everything, politics, 4-H, teens, just things that interest me.

I really reject not having kept in constant contact with him, I felt like I was on my platau talking to him, not walking down or over to someone elses. I feel like he's the only person I know who's like that. Which is funny becuase I talked to him for mmm.. 2 hours no maybe less, maybe only an hour before a banquet, and exchanged two e-mail three months ago.

Whatever.

"After our conversation in Toronto you had me quite interested in what you had to say and I would like to hear your views on a number of different things. I find it rare to find someone who has such dedication and passion about organizations and issues and I would be disheartened to let this opportunity to come to know an intelligent and driven person like yourself."

That is part of the last e-mail he sent me, which I didn't reply to. I want to particulary focus on the "someone who has such dedication and passion about organizations and issues and I would be disheartedned to let this opportunity to come to know an intelligent and driven person like yourself."

Refocus a second time "DRIVEN PERSON LIKE YOURSELF." What happened to that Rebecca? I don't know. How do I get her back? Well I plan to ask my pyscologist about that when I see her Thursday. I miss that Rebecca.

Anyways. I sent Dustin an e-mail just before this. It's 4 in the morning, not only will that account for my ability to make coherant sentence having gone down the drain, but it also means I was probably a lot looser with what I had to say. Hopefully I didn't come off creepy.

Oh well. My philosophy these days is to not give a shit about anything... it's not going well.

So every once in awhile I'll go on this downloading spree of TV episodes for shows I watch. To catch up on episodes that I'd missed. I was doing this again last week, all of the popular shows are ripped off of HD channels now which makes them pretty decent quality.

I got this bright idea last night. Why don't I burn them onto a disc? Then I can watch them whenever I like! Best idea I ever had. Because they are from an HD channel they actually look better on our small tv in the living room than our regular channels. They even look good on our projector. All in a days work.

I'm also remaking my old Me, Myself and I site. Why? Well mostly I really liked this photo I found and wanted to use it for something. I figure I can use it to store anything for my own benefit. That way if we have to send my laptop in ever again I'll still have all the important stuff I need. Such as my resume.
http://ragingfire.net/me/
Pretty picture...

I also worked a little bit on my stuff on fantasyland... my parents keep telling me that I need a hobby. I figure writing is a good one that doesn't involve me getting out of my pjs in the morning. Maybe I'll finish Fae. That would be cool.

I'm now burning the first two episodes of Heroes (my favorite TV show right now) on to a DVD to go with episodes 11 and 12 of CSI (Las Vegas of course) on the first DVD.

I've also discouvered a bunch more artists I really like, these ones are more punky than the others. The Pink Spiders, Paramore, Cute Is What We Aim For...

Duhks is still my favorite although it might have something to do with the fact that they are a funkier sound.... and all acoustic. I love acoustic.

Cool. My Heroes disk is done. I'm going to go watch it.

Ugh. I just remembered that I have to work tomorrow. Sucky.

I had a horrible sleep last night. I think I only got an hour or so of sleep, I just kept tossing and turning all night. It's okay though I slept this afternoon instead. :D

Anyways, I had this really odd and horrible dream this morning. In it I went to visit neighbors of mine on evening/night. It was a husband and a wife with two small children. I was talking to the wife in the living room and the husband went to the washroom. The wife went to check on the kids, which I somehow already knew were dead... but the me in the dream didn't know, I heard the wife gasp and went in the room.

The child in the crib was about two and covered in blood, but was sitting up and seemed to be okay. The baby was on the ground in a pool of blood, decapitated with a dolls head next to it and the body below. Sick.

I backed out of the room and into the living room where I heard the wife start to yell at the husbad. Somehow we both just knew that he had done it. Then I hear him start to beat her with a brush, I just knew somehow what it was. So slowly backed out the door and then ran towards my house.

I remember thinking I need to call 911 and that my cell was in my pocket, but I wanted to get home first because the husband was now following me. I got in my house and locked all the doors, then hid in our downstairs bathroom because it locks and has no windows. I called 911 and told them to go to the neighbors address and what had happened.

Then the husband broke into my house and started prowling around. Somehow not checking the bathroom. I hear my parents enter the house and the husband and my dad start fighting. I called 911 and again and told the police they needed to come to my house.

The police came and pulled him off my dad and arrested him. My parents were yelling where is my daughter and I came out of the bathroom.

That is when I woke up... at 7:15 this morning. I turned on every light in my house and sat in my dinning room for over an hour until it was a little light out, then went back to bed. This is the last time I ever watch a real murder show, particularly before bed. Stupid "Murders of Passion." I only watched 5 or 10 minutes of it too.

As a side note, my new favorite band is Duhks and Nathan. :D Everyone should check them out. They're both Winnipeg based or have Winnipeg roots.

My mom brought this home from work yesterday. Anyone who owns a dog or a cat... or both, should find this pretty humorous.

Excerpts from a Dog's diary:
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
9:30 am - A cart ride! My favorite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!
12:00 pm - Lunch! My favorite thing!
1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 pm - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 pm - Milk bones! My favorite thing!
7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary:

Day 683 of my captivity:

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In a n attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the floor.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. The audacity!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisonor here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded! The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe...... for now....

Formal Time!

I went to my first sorority formal on Saturday night. It was the Panhel (Panhellenic) Formal. This formal is thrown by all three of the sororities/women's fraternities on campus (ADPi is the only sorority, the other two are women's frats, yes there is a difference.). This one was semi-formal, cocktail type dresses not full out ballgowns.

I had an amazing time. I danced the night away. Literally. I have a cut from Joelle stepping on my toe with her high heels, the bum. My dates (yup, plural), Dido and Chris, we found out when we got there had been banned and weren't actualy supposed to have come. Ooopps. Oh well. It was fine. I guess technically Freddy (Jessica Fred), me and Nicole brought the two of them together, but they left right after diner... soo...

Tags:4-h, fundraise, improving, life, minga, my, organized, punctual, responsible

Here we go:

I don't think I'm going to become a lawyer anymore... why? Many reasons, the first being I frankly can't remember why I wanted to become one. Nor can I name any reason why I still want to be one. I'm really just not passionate about it and I want to be passionate about my job.

I think I'm going to work in Manitoba with 4-H possibly being a 4-H and Youth Specialist (I think that's the job title, whatever Heidi did). I'd really like to be able to make changes to the program, give back to it after it's given me so much and be able to inspire tomorrow's youth to be the best that they can be. Yah, I know that sounds korny, but I don't care.

My ultimate goal, which I haven't told my parents about, to one day get onto the 4-H Canada Council. I finally have a life goal in mind. That's really never happened before.

Next, Life Goals:
First- Become more responsible. How? Numerous ways, starting with limiting my activity choices so I'm not stretching myself thin. For once I'm going to honor commitments that I've made. I will finish my term as Minister of Publications, but I may rethink being on Cabinet next year. I won't back out of joining the sorority, but from now on I'm limiting myself to the more mandetory activities. No more socials late at night or random events during the week. I'm already in indoor soccer, so gymnastics and fencing will have to wait until next year and I will do lots of planning before I commit to them.

I am going to start being more punctual. That is what I'm working on first. I want to be atleast 15 minutes early for everything I do. I am not going to sleep through my alarm. When it goes off I am jumping out of bed, no ifs ands or buts.

Developing strong good habits and breaking the old bad ones. For instance, I'm not going to put off doing anything. When my parents ask for things to be done (with in reason, I'm talking dishes, etc.). First thing I do in the morning is do my chores no more lolygagging or watching TV.

Next I am going to set up a daily schedule checklist reminder. To make sure everything that I need to do gets done. Homework comes first, then studying for exams everyday, then youth parliament and random other things can come next. All this comes before socializing.

I will go out one night a week. Whoever I talk to first and plan with first will happen. If (and only if) I finish everything I need to do will I go out more and that will just be spontanious.

I am going to bed every day at 10 p.m. and waking up at 7 whether I have school or not. This can be altered for days that I work at the Sheraton (obviously). Or have soccer games, but those are exceptions not the rule. If I stick to my plan and do everything important first I shouldn't have any problem going to be at a decent time.

No more skipping classes, except maybe Computer Usage... we'll see about that one. I will make it to every Pyscology, Philosophy and Sociology class if it kills me and take good notes for later reference. To be placed in my binder the second I walk in the door after school.

I will read my textbooks for atleas an hour and 40 minutes everyday (that is 20 minutes for each class).

I will complete all assignments when I get them not at the last minute. Starting with Computer Usage.

I will stop spending large amounts of money on food, entertainment, useless things and clothes. Saving is now my road, that and planned outings. I am going to come up with a budget and stick to it!

I will make a lunch every day an take it like I was doing for a few weeks. Including on days I work at the library.

I think that is it. Note to self to tell parents that they are not allowed to comment on this.

Second: Become more organized.
Starting with cleaning my room and keeping it that way!

Secondly create lists of goals I want to accomplish and tape them to my headboard in my room, starting with this list of goals. Including things I need to do, things I want to accomplish, things I need to spend my money on and things that I want to spend my money on.

For each activity or assignment I get the first thing I want to do is create a timeline and stick to it.

Thirdly: Create Minga!!!
Fundraiser for Free the Children that spans Winnipeg and surronding communities (where I can drive to). Start promoting (flyers everywhere, tv ads... anything) months ahead. Use students, high schools for sure.. work on this once I've gotten my life straightened out. Get a group of people to help me out.

Forth: Improve 4-H
Ideas in the working, youth councils at area and provincial level. More teen involvement. Working with ISMA to strengthen it. Do more to promote the different trips, outings, and activities to encourage kids to stay. Travel to all clubs giving presentations. Create website for district with club sections.

It's probably been, what, a year since I lasted posted on this thing? Well maybe like 3 months less.

This will make you laugh Annalee.

I just got back from a conference in Toronto, it was awesome, although that's not at all the point. I've been thinking about my life a lot lately and this conference, particularly the very last guest speaker really sent those thoughts home. His name was Craig Kielburger.

If you never heard of him, here is a little synopsis for you: Craig Kielburger is an accomplished child rights advocate and leadership specialist, an award-winning author and a popular speaker, thrice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He is the founder of Free The Children, the world's largest network of children helping children through education, and the co-founder of Leaders Today, a world renowned youth leadership training organization. The fact that he organized the former group at the age of 12 made him famous as a young social activist of remarkable precociousness. (From Wikipedia)

Basically he started this organization, that's main goal is to better the lives of children across the globe, at the age of 12. Impressive? Oh yah.

Not only that, he is an amazing speaker and all around super cool guy. I know I got to meet him. Good ol' 4-H conferences.

So I've decided that I shouldn't be allowed to listen to motivational speakers any longer because now my head is swimming with too much and I'm afraid I'm going to forget it all. So in order to keep track of it, I'm writing it all in here. I'll give a better post about the Toronto conference sometime tomorrow when I'm not studying/working. (That's write I just used the word study in a sentence concerning my life! The world is ending!!!)

By the way: Did you ever hear back from that job Annalee?

So, last night was Derek Myers mahusive grad party which he fondly nicknamed "Danger Zone." First off I'd like to clear up two things. First, I like to think of myself as a fairly social person. I love to go out with friends, and I do as often as possible, and have a great time. Secondly I hate drugs and alcohol ( I refuse to do either ever) and I tend to look down on those who do them, unless it's just a sip of alcohol they're 18 and they did it because they honestly like the taste, they weren't just giving in to peer pressure.

This means, teen parties, not at the top of my priority list, nor are they one of my quote unquote "favorite activities."

Despite what people say. I really don't think I'm all that smart... I mean honestly, last night I quit studying at 9:30, but then stayed up until midnight even though I had a Pre-Cal exam the next day which I knew absolutely nothing for. I obviously wasn't thinking then.

Then this morning I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat anything. Then went to my three hour long exam, which I knew I'd have to go straight to work afterwards. That isn't smart at all. I didn't eat today until like 6:30.

Now, even though my parents will be waking me up in two to three hours, I've been reading a book and now working on an image. Oh and I forgot to mention that even after I go back to sleep for a bit I have to be leaving for my Aunt's in Morden between twelve and two and I haven't even packed yet. That's a two hour drive I'll be doing by myself...

Really, just not smart at all... *sigh* I have to learn one day right?

But, anywho, I did a new image and that's all that matters. It's pretty if I do say so myself. What do you think?

Theon: My newest and possibly second greatest. )

Fantasy: My second newest (done a few days ago) and possibly greatest. )

Well, that's all for tonight. I'm going to bed before I get caught being still up. That will probably end in my not going to Morden tomorrow *gulp*.

Ta Ta!

I finally started writing my speech last night and I just finished my final draft. All I have left to do now is transfer it onto cue-cards, which I will leave until tomorrow at school. It's past my bedtime. Here is my speech if anyone is interested. I'd love to hear your comments. Oh and Annalee, don't worry you'll be seeing it tomorrow no matter what so you don't have read this ^_^.

I would like everyone to close their eyes. If you can, remember when you first got your driver’s license, the first time your parents let you and a friend take the car. You’re brimming with excitement, joy, exhilaration. You feel free. )

Thank goodness that is finished. Now all I have to do is say it tomorrow night with no practice. Goodie. Wish me luck!

Annalee and I went to the hotel's restuarant in town (which everyone just refers to as "the hotel") for some "pie" which turned into poutine for her and a breakfast, complete with eggs, toast, bacon and hasbrowns, for me. That seems to happen everytime Annalee and I go out. Like when we went to Perkins for a "snack" and ended up ordering a Strawberry Waffle to share. Not that I'm complaining. It was an awesome waffle!

This is from now on going to be called our "Excursion for "pie" incase I ever feel like refering to it again. Perhaps I'll write a story about it.

I had a South Interlake Credit Union student branch board meeting after school today. That went pretty good, although Cody had to leave at 4:15 and basicly missed the whole meeting, including saying his report. Also, only Tracy and I really ever discussed anything, the others just sat there and listened I guess.

Which reminds me I have to go ask Mr. Pearce tomorrow how far this "you can do whatever you want with that room" (okay so I was kind of paraphrasing there...) goes. Such as murals on the walls... Annalee...

Yah, were asking you Annalee, I'll tell you ALL about it tomorrow. I promise. I'm sure you'll be thrilled (did you catch the sarcasim? ^_-)

Last, but deffinately not least (the point of this post actually), I got to see Walk the Line again. Did I mention that it is an AMAZING movie. *sigh* It made me happy. Hopefully that will last till tomorrow morning when I'm going to have to get up extra early to photocopy mine and Kurt's notes (just remembered, crap) and take and shower (then let my hair dry after and make it curly. Yes!). I really have more about Walk the Line, but I won't post it here, you never know who might read it!

Oh I guess I also want to show off my latest image. Serendipity. I'm kind of proud of myself seeing as I haven't done that kind of thing in months. So here you go! Tell me what you think!

Serendipity: Please hold me tight just once more. )

Okay really going to bed now... man that was long...

Oh and did I mention I ordered the Narnia soundtrack and Walk the Line soundtrack? So excited!! *jumps around* EEEEeeee!!! They should be here between the 27th and 31st. Yah!!

I'm actually listening to some of the sounds right now!! *g*

Oh and (I swear it's bedtime for me after this one last, itsy-bitsy thing) my cousin, Heather, is going, pause for a second the Manitoba Scot Tournament of Hearts!!!!!!! So excited and so happy for her!! I wish I could watch her play, but it's up in Thompson (evil...). By the way, didn't Scot Towls change their name to Sponge? So will it be the Spong Tournament of Hearts now, because that sounds rather... ummm.... odd...

I swear I'm gone! Nighty-night.

Note to Self: Never say that again...

Oooo, I'm feeling Chipper tonight! What a great word!! Although.. the frog looks stoned again.. what is WITH that?

Oh just to add one last thing (I won't say that again I swear, I think I already said that though, oops, oh well).

List of Favorite People:
Holly: She came into the library with an open flannel shirt (with a white shirt underneath!! Dirty minds!) and longjohns under her pants! Amazing.
Leigh: In my history class in response to Ms. Smith's question he said, "Well, if I've learned anything from watching Gilmore Girls..." he also said something else amazing the other day in my Trans class, but I don't remember what it was.. This wouldn't have happened if I had my Cheese site. Evil, lazy Annnalee.
Marc: He took off his shirt during part of his presentation in my Psyc class, while he was talking about Teens and Sex actually, and Ms. Smith had no idea what to do. She just shook her head. It was so funny. We were all laughing so hard I don't think anyone heard the rest of the presentation. Oh and he threw the shirt (which he had unbuttoned to take off) into the "crowd" (or the rest of the class). It was great. In a never want to see that again way...

So today's been pretty much crappy. I've been sick all day and I think I'm only feeling better because I took a gravol a couple of hours ago (which I thought was smart), but my mom, after I told her I took one, told me I take gravol too easily. Okaee. I slept until about four then watched a bit of T.V., ate three perogies, watched the Golden Globes, got bored of the Golden Globes, came on here and that's been my day in a nutshell. Whoot!

Made some icons the other day. Feel free to use them jsut please:

I also really want to go see Walk the Line again. It was AMAZING! I asvise everyone to go see it. So happy. Well not about the being sick thing, but just thinking about Walk the Line... yummm....

For all I love working at the library, it can be pretty boring some days. Like today for instance. We've had, well I don't know how many people we've had because apparently our people counter hasn't been working again, but it hasn't been very many.

I have to go to Jamie (or J'aime as she spells it, yup, you read right, that's French for I like..)house to work on a Language and Literary English project after this. That is sure going to suck. Thank god all I have to do is film then edit afterwards, I won't have to act with Clarissa and J'aime *rolls eyes*.

We're supposed to being this like C.S.I. and I was supposed to look up the opening (I just watched the show twice last night, why didn't I pay attention?) so we can spoof it for our project.

I really need to get paid I have a totally of $6 and some cents in my bank account. All I have to say about that is... crap.

Also exams are coming up really quick and I don't have any idea how to do ANY of my pre-cal... this is not going to end well... that and I have a law test on Tuesday that I know nothing for. Oh and I don't have a bunch of the notes for History.. which I also don't know anything on it.

Oh and last, never mind this isn't last. I have my 4-H speech night this Friday night to be exact and I don't even have a topic to right about yet... I am so screwed.. apparently there are only three others in my category too so I could have had a good chance of winning. Damn.

I also could possibly have a photography meeting this Friday... joy. My mom keeps telling me were going to have to meet every week because I haven't been "on top of things."

Only bright thing, I'M GETTING A COMPUTER IN MY ROOM!!! *does a dance* Oh and my dad's getting a brand spanking new computer which should be super awesome. It will definitely play my The Sims 2 game way better.

Note: Did I mention last time how much I love spell-check?!?
